David Simonini founded David Simonini Custom Homes to deliver unparalleled luxury residence in highly sought after neighborhoods. He embarked on his professional career in the construction industry in his teens. After he graduated in 1982 with a degree in marketing from the University of South Carolina, he decided to join the family building business and then started his own business in 1994.

Shortly after in 1998, the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce honored him with the Entrepreneur of the Year Award – one of David’s proudest professional accomplishments. He went on to develop the first authentic luxury Old World neighborhood in South Charlotte, Pellyn Woods.

David then expanded his interests into multi-family housing and urban planning. He introduced New Urbanism to Charlotte by collaborating with visionary Miami-based architect and urban planner, Andrés Duany. David’s projects have been long been recognized and award-winning – including being awarded by the national Professional Builder Magazine for Best Neighborhood and the Elite Who’s Who by contractors/designers.

For 35 years, he has since galvanized the industry with his leading-edge and innovative work. His business enterprises have designed and built over 500 town-homes and 1,000 custom homes in greater Charlotte. These projects include more than 100 of the finest luxury homes in Charlotte’s most prestigious communities and in recent years has included developing empty-nester single family homes and multi-family developments.

In his spare time, David Simonini is an avid sports spectator and enjoys traveling the world exploring many hidden regions. Throughout his career, travel has spawned his creativity in luxury building and provided opportunities for him to introduce new ideas to Charlotte.
